About the role

  • This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager (PM) to join the boroughs Children Services.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a proven track record in successfully managing projects.
  • The Project Manager will play a vital role in overseeing project activities, ensuring timely delivery, and demonstrating the true value of effective project management.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for successfully delivering projects or work streams in accordance with our project management framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Ideally will have public sector experience and a keen interest in producing quality outcomes for Children’s Services.
  • Demonstrate the value of effective project management by delivering high-quality outcomes and exceeding stakeholder expectations.
  • Able to provide an example of managing and overseeing all aspects of assigned projects, proof of delivering projects within budget, scope, and on time.
  • Able to develop and maintain project plans, including defining project goals, objectives, tasks, and resource requirements.
  • Experience and able to provide examples of writing option appraisals, project initiation documents and full business cases.
  • Ability to identify and track emerging risk assessments, identifying appropriate mitigations.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with a track record of collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams ensuring effective coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstration of excellent communication to a variety of audiences with ability of managing challenging stakeholders.
  • Will foster a collaborative and positive work environment, fostering self-motivation, teamwork, and professional development among project team members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in successfully managing projects, particularly in writing reports and conducting option appraisals.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Relevant certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) are highly desirable.
