Role Purpose:

To lead effectively on all aspects of tenancy management, community engagement and employment, social regeneration and youth support initiative services with customer focus and strong ethos of partnership working, creating and implementing the right strategic vision and pro-actively leading on change as necessary to deliver excellent landlord and housing plus services at all times within a changing environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. To work closely and effectively as part of Housing Management SMT, leading the service to achieve service excellence, driving forward continuous improvements, developing policies and process to create a modern service in response to the organisation’s requirements.
  2. To lead and direct the performance of the tenancy management and community services teams, responsible for the full range of delivered to residents across the service, identifying growth areas of work that enhance the service.
  3. To lead on tenant resident engagement and participation for council residents following a coproduction approach to design, commissioning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
  4. Ensure performance measurement systems are in place to monitor service standards, regulatory and legislative frameworks.
  5. To plan and successfully deliver projects and creative initiatives and strategies to support excellent services and attainment of team and business objectives.
  6. To develop and implement strategic plans for the delegated service areas, setting out the overall objectives for the service and ensuring that residents are effectively represented and involved in service planning and are regularly consulted and involved ensuring that their views and aspirations are properly reflected.
  7. To lead, support and direct teams to ensure their efficient and effect management, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services.
  8. Providing and delivering innovative solutions to complex issues and problems
  9. To keep up to date on legislation and best practice, supporting the delivery of strategies and new policies in the service. To develop initiatives to improve service performance and the optimum utilisation of financial products/services and digital technologies.
  10. To create and develop close links and work collaboratively with a wide range of key partners, stakeholders, internally and externally providing a positive influence in income and leasehold management services, securing best outcomes for tenants and working on joint ventures and initiatives across social housing.
  11. To act the subject matter expert housing management (including tenancy law and community development, keeping up to date with new ways of working, best practice and legislative changes and continually reviewing policies, processes and procedures.
