The role will be primarily responsible for working with Finance colleagues and Senior Managers across the Council on financial management and accounting but more specifically supporting services in the Resources and Chief Executive departments and also Community Safety.
The role carries significant responsibilities for maintaining key financial processes across the Council and will require attention to detail and excellent communication skills at all levels of engagement.
The role will be responsible for:
- Budget monitoring, forecasting and Medium term planning for the revenue General fund services
- Supporting budgets holders with managing all elements of their budgets
- Supporting the production of business cases and financial appraisals for business decisions
Other responsibilities include completing Government returns, ad hoc financial analysis and a range of other financial and accounting tasks as required . The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and above average Excel skills . Recent experience of SAP Finance and Capital closedown is desirable.
