More social workers needed: The government has confirmed the increased demand for assessments

In the ongoing fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic, an already very stretched service continues to struggle on with a backlog of needful service users requiring help.

The government has confirmed that councils will need to recruit more adults’ social workers to deal with hundreds and thousands more assessments and reviews. Imperium Resourcing has been part of the help to recruit more social workers for local authorities.

With more people eligible for council-funded care, more assessments, case management and reviews are required to determine eligibility for anyone wanting to benefit from the cap on personal care costs in order to evaluate the cost of meeting their needs.

In 2021, Imperium delivered over 8,000 assessments for authorities based in the south west, east midlands, south west and north west.

The project side of Imperium was conceived in order to aid Local Authorities/Other Public Sector Services deal with these backlogs.

The projects that have been completed and those that are still ongoing are having a positive impact on service user’s lives as well as also easing the strain on Local Authorities. The delivery of these services, is becoming more and more unfeasible to keep up with. Our teams are specialists within their field, from completing Supported Living assessments to Manual Handling assessments, and we are proud to be making an impact up and down the country.
