We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Asbestos Surveyor to join the Council’s Asbestos Management Team based at the Depot to undertake asbestos survey work.
The Asbestos Team ensures that the Council complies with relevant requirements under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. The team also provides advice to other council departments on asbestos management.
Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Compliance and working closely with the Asbestos Works Coordinator, your role will be to carry out asbestos surveys, (Management, Refurbishment and Demolition) in the Council’s Domestic, Commercial and Culture and Leisure properties.
You will need to input data, prepare reports and maintain detailed records, so IT skills are essential, although training will be given. You will have a very good knowledge of asbestos legislation and associated guidance as well as experience of asbestos surveys and laboratory protocols.
